Fort Worth’s Hall Ensemble returns chamber music to its roots by presenting ensemble music the way it was originally performed — in rich people’s giant living rooms. At 7:30 p.m. Friday, the ensemble, made up of Fort Worth Symphony players and Fort Worth Opera singers, presents Music at the Mansion: A Cattle Baron Concert. Throw on a cocktail dress or a watch fob and transport yourself to a time when the cattle barons entertained elegantly. In addition to the music, this is a great chance to gawk at the inside of Fort Worth’s beautifully renovated historic, Thistle Hill Mansion. The doors open at 6:45 for a little pre-concert mingling, and upon arrival you’ll be greeted by complimentary valet and hors d’oeuvres. A wide variety of instrumental and vocal music from the 18th and 19th centuries will be performed. Tickets are $50. You can purchase them and find more information at hallensemble.org.
