Experience has taught us that some of the best bonds come from sharing battle wounds, and no one can better attest to this than Kayleen and Doug, the main (and only) characters in Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries. The two-man show (starring Travis Stuebing and Mikaela Krantz) spans 30 messy and masochistic years, over which childhood playground mishaps evolve into self-destructive patterns of adulthood. Is it friendship, codependency or shared misfortune? Find out and relive some of your own scars when you see the Sundown Collaborative Theatre’s production of Gruesome Playground Injuries, opening at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Green Space Arts Collective, 529 Malone St. in Denton. The play runs through February 17, with performances Thursdays through Saturdays. Tickets are $10, and $8 for students and seniors. Call 940-220-9302 or visit sundowntheatre.org.
