I gotta say, I love me some socks…almost as much as I love pants. So at last Saturday’s opening of Eric Trosko’s Synepet exhibition at Road Agent, 2909-A Canton St., as I gazed upon a pair of glazed canvases and a fine pair of furry socks, I got real stoked. The crowd was equally enthralled by antlers/branches (“From the Forest,” 2004), partial fish/spotlights (“Untitled,” 2005) and what I like to refer to as the slightly disturbing meatball/girlpart (“Pile,” 2003). Trosko, a Brooklyn artist, offered up slightly absurd originals with hints at the natural—bark, hair, scales, etc. Though there are few pieces in the show, each “empathetic organism” deserves a good long stare and a playful conversation, if you’re willing. If you are, Synepet hangs through February 24. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Call 214-749-4049 or visit road-agent.com.

Tuesdays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 26. Continues through Feb. 24
