Unlike your eighth-grade guidance counselor, Deschutes Brewery actually believes in you. Or at least it believes you can drink beer and play oversized games. It’s the Beer Olympics, after all. Also known as an evening where you get to try a kegload of new beers and play all your favorites, like Skeeball, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four and even a video game or two. You’ll be competing for the coveted Golden Growler and in the process you’ll get to take a swig of Deschutes beers like Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Chainbreaker White IPA, Hope Henge Experimental IPA and Obsidian Stout (on nitro). Stick around and you’ll even get to try a surprise. It’s their version of a mystery Airhead, but with a much higher alcohol content. The event is free and runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday at Barcadia, 1917 North Henderson Ave. Hit up deschutesbrewery.com for more info.
