Before KMVK-107.5 FM MOViN’ launched last October, we were forced to endure call-in bits like “Dateless in Dallas” (more accurately, “brainless in Dallas”) on KISS-106.1 FM if we wanted any hope of hearing 45 seconds of pop goodness from Beyoncé or Kelly Clarkson. KISS had no room for the classics, anyway, as the station’s programmers were hell-bent on giving us the latest My Chemical Romance at the expense of junior high dance favorites such as Ginuwine’s “Pony.” (Everybody! Dip, dip, diiiiiip.) Let us celebrate our new freedom from DJs and pop-punk by going to see Ginuwine himself—not in a musical performance, but starring in a play called The Bachelorette Party, an attitude-filled celebration of sista-hood. The play runs Tuesday through April 22 at the Naomi Bruton Theatre at the Dallas Convention Center, 650 S. Griffin St. Shows are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Matinees are 3 p.m. weekends. Tickets are $20 to $42.50. Call 214-743-2400.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; April 21-22, 3 p.m.; Sun., April 22, 7:30 p.m. Starts: April 17. Continues through April 22
