After comedian Anthony Jeselnik informed Donald Trump that nobody would mourn him if he got cancer, and after he created a sketch called “9-11 Babies” that involves dressing infants up like the Twin Towers, spoon feeding them and making their faces explode, he crawled into the uncomfortably small bed where Joan Rivers films her new web series, In Bed With Joan. As the pair laid awkwardly next to one another, he informed Rivers that the experience would likely be similar to his other dalliances with women. “I’ll start with a few Holocaust jokes, follow with some AIDS jokes, throw in a few putdowns and then I’ll finish first.” These non-PC jabs work for Jeselnik because he refuses to falter or soften. Instead, he has the fearlessness of a well-educated asshole and a content collection that drives home deeper points through its superficial detonations. He’s a monster, and his fame rise will only gain more momentum with his newly extended podcast-style Comedy Central program, The Jeselnik Offensive.
