When I was a kid, I was a typical girly-girl. We’re talking pink hair ribbons, Barbie dolls and an abhorrence of dirt, but even I loved dinosaurs. There was an exhibit featuring giant animatronic dinosaurs, including the carnivorous T-Rex. I spent hours staring up at the creature, convinced he was real, and I’d have given my entire Barbie collection to watch him gobble just one of them up with his plastic glistening jaws. Now, I’ve got the chance to be impressed all over again as Dinosaurs Live! Life-size Animatronic Dinosaurs at the Heard comes back to town. Come to the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place in Mckinney. Stroll down the nature trails and encounter a 46-foot tall T-Rex and eight other dinos. Tickets $6 kids, $9 adults. Call 972-562-5566 or go to heardmuseum.org for more information.
