If Esther Ritz paints to “express her freedom of imagination,” then we naturally have the undeniable right to “express our freedom of interpretation” when looking at her colorful, abstract paintings, right? For instance, when we look at Ritz’s “It’s a Long Long Road,” we see a horse trotting through the fiery cauldron of hell while spectators pelt it with after dinner mints. While we go see our therapist, check out Ritz’s New Paintings in conjunction with Jorge Misum’s Precursors, on display through October 16 at the Haley-Henman gallery, 2335 Hardwick St. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Call 214-749-1277 or visit haleyhenman.com.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 11. Continues through Oct. 16, 2010
