I can say two words and then just pretty much fill the rest of this space with one long HEEEEEEY. The words are Pride Parade. As in gay pride. As in the grandest celebration of them all. If you’ve never been you seriously have no idea what you’re missing — more glitter and fluorescent wigs than you’ve ever seen in your life balanced out by the absolute fewest clothes. Like we’re talking more flesh than a trip to Hurricane Harbor and decidedly better looking flesh, too. The parade kicks off at 2 p.m. Sunday, and if you have the foolish idea of doing any business located on Cedar Springs Boulevard between Wycliff Avenue and Turtle Creek Boulevard, do yourself a favor and knock it out Saturday because the crowd will be so thick, you couldn’t stir it with a bedazzled baton. Parking is a nightmare so remember cabs, Uber and the DART rail are your friends. Learn more and relive last year’s parade at dallastavernguild.org.

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?
At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.
