The Irish are a multi-talented people, churning out figures from Kenneth Branagh to Oscar Wilde to Bono. Ireland has produced great writers like W.B. Yeats and mediocre ones like Frank McCourt. And musical juggernauts like Enya and Sinead O’Connor. But all that historic oppression and drinking doesn’t just contribute to literary gravitas — it also produces some damn good stand-up comedy. Irish comic Dylan Moran sold out the North American leg of the tour of his show, Yeah, Yeah, back in June, but thankfully he added more dates, with Dallas among them. You may best remember Moran as Bernard Black, the misanthropic bookstore owner in the British show Black Books. Or as that one dude who got hilariously disemboweled in Shaun of the Dead. Moran takes the stage at Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Road, at 8 p.m. Visit lakewoodtheater.com for tickets and information.
