Storytelling as an art form has existed since primitive humans figured out how to articulate grunts to convey just how spectacularly bad their date last night was. So shows like This American Life and The Moth didn’t prove that even the most normal-seeming people have some hilarious, insightful and seriously fucked up stories to share. They just made listening to them easier and more addictive. So it’s very exciting to hear that Oral Fixation, Dallas’ version of these personal confessions, is back for its third season at 8 p.m. Monday at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora St. It’s hard not to be obsessed with Oral Fixation, and this year’s premiere is tantalizingly themed “Bun in the Oven.” The night will feature seven stories, including a father’s take on pregnancy and Il Cane Rosso’s Jay Jerrier telling how he came to rule pizza in Dallas (in the latter case, the oven is pretty literal). General admission is $25. Visit attpac.org for more info.
