Today is Local News Day

Everybody has been making New Year’s Eve plans for a while now: Are you going to get a good meal and a toast of the bubbly, see a rock show but still have a good midnight countdown, or tap a few kegs at a house party? If your plans include alcohol, chances are you’ll at least mildly regret it on New Year’s Day. Newflower Farmer’s Market, 1800 N. Henderson Ave., anticipates this as well as it anticipates your need for bulk snack items. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve, the market’s Natural Living Department is featuring natural (naturally) remedies for hangovers with When the Party’s Over. The event teaser boasts that the cures will help to “bring in the new year without the bang.” Let’s be honest, though. If it’s bang you want, we hope you get it — memorably and responsibly, of course — but we do love Newflower for making the day after even slightly less awkward. Call 214-826-2937.
