When artists are described as the “artists laureate of Oak Cliff,” it gets our attention. We love Oak Cliff and its artistic sensibilities. So, we assume that Brian Jones and Brian Scott are real artist’s artists. And, with work that depicts the Carni-sutra (Kama Sutra with carnival people) and a “tawdry” Eden, their Joker exhibit is both urban and funky. Not unlike the neighborhood itself. Joker is on view from noon to 5 p.m. (and by appointment) Saturdays and Sundays through January 16 at Mighty Fine Arts, 419 N. Tyler St. Admission is free. Call 214-942-5241 or visit mfagallery.com.
Saturdays, Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 2. Continues through Jan. 16, 2011
