Personally, I find the idea of running for office exhausting–it’s something about the constant blow-drying, suit-wearing and speech giving. Yet surely there are young women who would love to be the next female political sensation, and it’s a good thing. Last year, the United States ranked 69th in the world in terms of women holding political office, according to the Public Broadcasting Service. The Women’s Museum’s sixth annual Stories from the Top program on Friday seems aimed at inspiring a whole new generation of estrogen-rich candidates. Featuring Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison as guest speakers and moderated by WFAA co-anchor Gloria Campos, the discussion will explore the challenges and victories that led these two women to the top of their field. The event will be held at the Women’s Museum in Fair Park and is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. and begin at 11:30. Tickets are on sale at thewomensmuseum.org.
