The Webb Gallery’s latest show is called Big Hair & Sparkly Pants, a survey of what we think about Texas. The show includes intricately carved guns from Campbell Bosworth, retro embroidered pearl snaps from Fort Lonesome, mixed-media prints “rooted in West Texas landscape” from Jeff Wheeler, hand-lettered and -pressed prints from Lilco Press and traditional and wet-plate photography from Robb Kendrick. Opening night is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at 209 W. Franklin St. in Waxahachie. The evening is free and will include music from Matt the Cat Trio, Texas beer from Saint Arnold Brewery, conversations that will inevitably take a turn, snacks, more drinks and typically some degree of jackassery. And even if you’re some kind of weirdo jerk who hates Texas, you’ll find plenty of interesting people, oddball art and no shortage of skulls to hold your interest. Visit webbartgallery.com.
