Hamburgers are one of the most versatile foods known to man. Sure, there’s the 99-cent value-menu staple with which we’re all perhaps too familiar. But as you and your taste buds mature, the possibilities for gourmet takes on the sandwich are limitless. Kobe beef, goat cheese, pineapple, avocado and a plethora of other inventive ingredients can transform a burger into a culinary work of art worthy of a cloth napkin. Just don’t use silverware unless you want to look like a pompous ass. It’s still a burger, after all. Some of Dallas’ most acclaimed chefs–including Tim Love, Richard Chamberlain, Samir Dhurandhar, Dan Landsberg and Scott Romano–will be flipping burgers 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday with John Tesar to raise funds for Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) at Burgers and Burgundy, 5031 Deloache Ave. Cost is $75 per person.
