The Church Basement Ladies are back with another chapter in their series of musical comedies. The third sequel to the original hit show that was based on the 1997 book Growing Up Lutheran, A Mighty Fortress is Our Basement opens at the Eisemann Center (2351 Performance Drive, Richardson) with a 2 p.m. matinee performance Thursday, followed by 8 p.m. shows Thursday through Saturday and matinees on Saturday and Sunday. The humorous play portrays life for a group of Protestant women who work in their church basement kitchen in 1960s Minnesota. Times are changing and the folks at East Cornucopia Lutheran Church aren’t getting left behind, doing their best to embrace the new ways while still holding on to what they value most. Filled with songs and dance numbers, the play aims to entertain and share a few basic lessons of life. Tickets are $35. Call 972-744-4650 or visit eisemanncenter.com for tickets and information.
