The Perot opens its first touring exhibition this week with Animal Inside Out, a Kingdom offshoot of the popular Body World series. Dallas is the second American city to get the show, which just finished dazzling audiences at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The presentation looks at life below the fascia to highlight the innards of about 100 plastinate and capillary animal specimens. Opening to the public on Sunday and running through February 17, tickets for this in-depth examination of anatomy and physiology will come with reserved time slots — a necessity since more than 450,000 folks attended Body Worlds, The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies when it rolled through Fair Park in its 2006-2007 programming series. You’ll explore the vivisected guts of ostriches, octopi, cats, crocodiles and more, so long as you can swing that admission fee, which for a large family ain’t cheap.
