Round up the rugrats, Sesame Street Live Make a New Friend is hitting the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. Treat your kids and all their sticky friends to the story of Chamki, Grover’s new friend from India. As Chamki meets Elmo, Abby Cadabby and all the other Street-ers, they discover that though they may come from different parts of the world, they all have one thing in common — they’re humans dressed in oversized furry suits. Also, friendship, laughter, singing and “sharing cookies.” Valuable lessons indeed. Cue the tender music and lone tear. Friend opens at Verizon Theatre at 7 p.m. Thursday, with shows daily until Sunday’s final performance at 1 p.m.. Tickets start at $12, but if you really love your children, you’ll upgrade to the Sunny Seats package, which includes a VIP seat and pre-show meet and greet. Don’t wanna upgrade? That’s cool. Let us know how miniature resentment feels. The theater is at 1001 Performance Place in Grand Prairie. Visit verizontheatre.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 23, 1 p.m. Starts: Feb. 20. Continues through Feb. 22, 2014
