Did you know you can find beaches of sand in Dallas (for once) this Super Bowl weekend? If you already packed away your board-shorts and flip-flops for the winter, go find them. The 5th annual Celebrity Beach Bowl will take place in Victory Park, where a football field made of “one million pounds of sand” will host a celebrity flag-football game. NFL quarterbacks Eli Manning and Mark Sanchez attended last year’s game, which featured a mix of other NFL players, former and current, as well as many celebrities. This year promises a similar line-up of famous faces, and the game will be broadcast live DirecTV’s 101 Network. Those that stick around after the game can watch Maroon 5 perform on the urban beach. The Beach Bowl Bash starts with pre-game coverage at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with the concert scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Admission is free, which is not something you’ll hear too often this weekend. Visit directtv.com/beachbowl for more info.
Sat., Feb. 5, 1:30 p.m., 2011
