Being a die-hard, all-weather fan of a football team (or any team for that matter) takes discipline and a considerable amount of faith. The same goes for suiting up and heading out on the field for four quarters. It’s not a big shock, then, that the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration is as hugely anticipated as it is. This year’s roster features gospel’s guiding den mother, Cece Winans, Israel Houghton, Mary Mary, Marvin Sapp and others. In addition, noteworthy NFL players share their testimonies and NFL Players Choir perform with a featured performer as director. And while the scheduled line-up is already impressive, past years show evidence that incredible surprise guests could show up at any moment. Combine plays with praise 7:30 p.m. Friday at Music Hall at Fair Park. Tickets are $38 to $98, available at ticketmaster.com. Visit superbowlgospel.com for more information.

Fri., Feb. 4, 7:30 p.m., 2011
