Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $12,500 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
If you’re one of those people who loves musicals–you know what’s on Broadway, who’s in it and why the star of that one show wants to have the costar flattened by a piano–then go see Forbidden Broadway. The biting musical revue has been around since 1982, and the biggest hits of the Great White Way are bitingly satirized at every turn. Everything from West Side Story to Hairspray gets the treatment in the Uptown Players’ version of Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits, playing 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (with additional shows weekends through August 29) at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets are $30 to $40. Call 214-219-2718 or visit uptownplayers.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Aug. 6. Continues through Aug. 30, 2010
