If you aren’t using this publication as a makeshift blanket, chances are you aren’t too familiar with real hunger. Not the munchies you get after cashing a bowl, but the gnawing at the stomach that comes when you don’t know where your next meal will come from. That’s a very different empty-bowl experience. But the empty bowls at Empty Bowls: An Artful Taste To Fight Hunger aren’t such a bummer at all. Each ticket-holder can select one of more than 2,500 keepsake bowls, hand-crafted by hundreds of potters, woodworkers and other artisans. And you can fill them (or the provided dinnerware) with food from some 30 food booths ranging from Eddie V’s to Freebird’s 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the West Room of the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall at Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W. Lancaster St., Fort Worth. Tickets are $40 or $125 for individual sponsorships and benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank Network.
