By the time Thursday rolls around, you’ll probably have all your cash stuffed in garbage bags so you can “make it rain” at your choice Super Bowl party and other, let’s just say, less-than-intellectual events. Right? Well, for those of you who’d prefer a taste of real culture during this weekend of excess and manufactured coolness, Thursday also brings a free art reception at the Magnolia Gallery for Dallas artist and designer Lisa Lindholm. Since we’re not financial experts, we can’t tell you how to spend your money, just your time. But, if you haven’t liquidated your savings into one dollar bills yet, or you just can’t make it to the reception, Lindholm’s new exhibit, (un)natural, will stay on display through March 9 during regular business hours at the Magnolia Theatre, 3699 McKinney Ave. in the West Village. Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?

At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.
