Ever find yourself belaboring body language, playlists and text messages only to end up with a gawking list of unanswerables? “What did he mean?” or “Is this a sign?” Dallas-native Rebecca Carter’s new exhibition, Friendliness Towards all Things: or I Also Read (this)(into) What You Wrote, at Eastfield College, 3737 Motley Drive in Mesquite, incorporates historical documents–letters, photos, drawings and events–to explore what she calls “the collision between subjectivity and knowledge.” Carter’s work was recently exhibited in New Delhi, but this exhibit is open through September 3 in the nearby Gallery 219 of Eastfield’s Fine Arts Building. For more information, call 972-860-7329 or visit dcccd.edu.

Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Aug. 27. Continues through Sept. 3, 2010
