The couple who paints together, stays together. Well, that’s what we are to believe about Santa Fe artists Blair Vaughn-Gruler and her husband Ernst Gruler, who claim to paint side-by-side everyday. Mary Tomas Gallery, which happens to be owned by happily married artist types, displays the newest work of the Vaughn-Grulers in Side by Each. Although they work in tandem, their individual styles could be seen as counterpoints. For this exhibit, Blair presents oil paintings with abstracted shapes to be displayed alongside a sound sculpture series by Ernst, as well as several mixed-media paintings. The opening reception for the Side by Each is 6 p.m. Saturday, and the work will be on display at Mary Tomas, 110 Dragon St., through March 22. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday and admission is free.

Sat., Feb. 22, 6 p.m.; Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Feb. 22. Continues through March 22, 2014
