The words “beer tasting” and “opera” don’t find themselves together very often. But when they do, it’s a super good time. Especially when the Dallas Opera’s doing the opera-ing and The Londoner’s doing the beer-ing. From 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, the Dallas opera hosts a beer tasting at The Londoner (2909 Thomas Ave.) as part of its Baritones & Beachballs series to celebrate the opening of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena (the classic tale of an old queen being beheaded by her husband so he can bonk some new hotness with bigger honkers). Alice Laussade writes about food, kids, music, and anything else she finds to be completely ridiculous. She created and hosts the Dallas event, Meat Fight, which is a barbecue competition and fundraiser that benefits the National MS Society. Last year, the event raised $100,000 for people living with MS, and 750 people could be seen shoving sausage links into their faces. And one time, she won a James Beard Award for Humor in Writing. That was pretty cool.
