Director Jack Arnold’s quintessential tale of unrequited amphibian love, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, re-emerges in 3-D this Sunday as the inaugural film of Texas Frightmare Week at Alamo Drafthouse (100 S. Central Expressway). Born of an unholy union between the 2014 Texas Frightmare Weekend and Alamo Drafthouse Dallas, Texas Frightmare Week is programmed to drive fans into a frenzy of anticipation before the May 2 resurrection of the infamous horror convention. Fully deserving of its classic status and boasting one of the best rubber monster suits ever, the 60th anniversary version of The Creature From The Black Lagoon restores the film to its original three-dimensional glory for an experience largely unavailable since its initial 1954 release.
