When it comes to classical music superstars, there’s hardly a bigger name than Itzhak Perlman. The famed violinist has performed for queens and presidents (most notably alongside cellist Yo-Yo Ma at President Obama’s 2009 inauguration), and has wowed audiences around the world for decades with his impeccable tone, insightful musicality and seemingly effortless technique. Perlman has been the face of violin virtuosity to generations of Americans. His 1980s appearances on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood introduced countless kids to classical violin. On Sunday, Perlman will perform a solo recital at the Winspear Opera House (2403 Flora St.) as part of the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s new Recital Series. This is an incredible opportunity to hear a modern classical legend of the violin in an intimate setting. Catch the matinee performance at 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $20 to $100 and can be purchased at attpac.org or by calling the box office at 214-880-0202.
