$10,000

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, take the 37th annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour, where you’ll explore the 22-block area, listed in the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as a Texas Historic Site. The 200 preserved and restored homes exhibit beautiful architectural styles including Prairie, Neoclassical, Tudor, Colonial, Rich, Super Effin’ Rich and Holy Hail-to-the-Chief Columns. There’ll be artisan booths, music, food and even activities for your kids in Savage Park. Wanna get mom tipsy before you give her that lame macaroni necklace you made her? Get there early for the champagne brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Kids 12 and under get in free. Proceeds benefit the neighborhood and the East Dallas community. Get tickets at Whole Foods or visit SAHD.org.

Sat., May 8, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., May 9, 12-6 p.m., 2010
