Think long and hard about this: Why the hell wouldn’t you want to compete in a 21-and-up scavenger hunt/pub crawl benefiting a worthy artistic organization? There’s absolutely no reason. Scavenger hunts are bad-ass. They provide ample opportunity to own on your friends, and someone always ends up in a photo with either their pants down, busting a move with a stranger or doing something they’d not want their parents to see. In short: awesome. So, help out the Texas Ballet Theater by throwing down $25 per person and building your team of four to six peeps. Then you can earn drink specials, TBT vouchers for upcoming performances and other prizes. Plus, you could meet TBT’s talented dancers. Can’t promise you can pound a Peacemaker with them, but you can probably shake a hand or two…maybe as part of the hunt, but that’s just a guess. The Bar for Barre event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 5, starting at the Quarter Bar, 3301 McKinney Ave. The after-party (plie, tendu and woot, woot!) begins at 8 p.m. back at the Quarter Bar. Tickets are available at texasballettheater.org (under “support TBT”) or by calling 877-828-9200.

Sat., May 15, 4 p.m.; Sat., June 5, 4 p.m., 2010
