Think back to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the dancers who “magically” painted a large-scale intricate landscape of mountains and waters with just their hands and feet. Do you remember who choreographed that? Probably not, but TITAS and the Crow Collection of Asian Art are ready to school you about the man who is basically a genius. Really, he received the MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellowship. His name is Shen Wei and on June 19, his dance company will perform at the Winspear Opera House, in collaboration with an exhibition of his paintings hosted by the Crow from June 14-September 28. There will also be a pre-show lecture before the performance. Let Shen Wei take you on a Surrealist journey into a meditative landscape of movement and passion. Thursday, June 19 at 8 p.m. at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St., Dallas, TX 75201. $12-$135. 214-880-0202.

Thu., June 19, 8 p.m., 2014
