When it comes to international art exhibitions, Dallas can often be ignored in favor of cities like New York City or Chicago. The Dallas Museum of Art (1717 N. Harwood St.) is changing that with grabs like Jean Paul Gaultier a few years ago and now with its latest exhibit, Nur: Light in Art and Science from the Islamic World. First on view in Seville, Spain, its only stop in the U.S. will be at the Dallas Museum of Art beginning Sunday. The collection of more than 150 rarely seen objects chronicles the understanding and use of light in Islamic art and science that contributed to enlightenment. It will be on view through June 29. Special exhibition tickets are $8.
