Ally Carter, a New York Times best-selling author, is leaving her Oklahoma roots of casinos and dust storms and making a trip to the Lone Star State. Carter will discuss and sign copies of the newest edition to her Heist Society Series, Uncommon Criminals, at the Barnes and Noble Stonebriar Centre Mall (2601 Preston Rd.) on June 21 at 6 p.m. The book takes readers on an adrenaline-driven ride through Katarina Bishop’s life. Bishop wears many hats: friend, daughter and crook. Her thievery has gained her national recognition and she is presented the task of uncovering a rare gem, the Cleopatra Emerald. Carter dives into what it takes to learn from the past and persevere. Customers must present their receipt to earn a line-signing ticket, which is available at 9 a.m. the day of the event.
