Not since the ’80s have Day-Glo and black looked so good together, as artist Eric Sall brings this color combination back full throttle with his latest exhibition, Obstacles. The large-scale oil series shows just what can happen when you take a South Dakota boy and plop him down in the big crowded city, as his thick black gesture lines conceal what lies beneath in the Brooklyn resident’s colorful compositions. Obstacles will be on display now through December 23 at Marty Walker Gallery, 2135 Farrington St. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and by appointment. Call 214-749-0066 or visit martywalkergallery.com.

Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Nov. 21. Continues through Dec. 23, 2009
