$10,000

Comedian Doug Stanhope once told us in an interview that “there’s nothing fucking worse” than performing at huge theaters because they ruin the intimacy of a room or a comedy club. Unfortunately when you’re big enough to get on the cover of Rolling Stone’s comedy issue like comedian Aziz Ansari, you either do one show at a big place like the American Airlines Center or 50 smaller shows just to accommodate all of the fans who are bound to pack the place. He found his massive fame as Tom Haverford on the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” and earned all sorts of accolades for his TV and stand-up work from The Onion’s AV Club, TV Guide, Entertainment Weekly and People who named him the “Funniest Dude in Prime Time in 2011.” Ansari will perform live at 8 p.m. Saturday at the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave. in Dallas. Tickets are $45-70 and avilable at ticketmaster.com.

Sat., Sept. 13, 8 p.m., 2014
