Dallas in December isn’t so much a description of weather as it is an inspiring exhibition of artwork at Thornwood Gallery. It features a wide range of painters and sculptures and their interpretations of the human-nature connection, the beauty of found objects and delicate architecture that is so often overlooked. In particular, Kevin Box’s delicate architecture in sculptures like “Rock, Paper, Scissors” or “Folding Planes” make it hard to imagine a flimsy, floating piece of paper is actually bronze. The exhibit features Mark Nordquist, Joe Incrapera, Kim Coulter, Sam Caldwell, Mark Yale Harris, Onyeka Ibe and many more. Gallery hours 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays; the exhibition runs through Wednesday, December 30. Call 214-659-9990 or visit thornwoodgallery.com.

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 18. Continues through Dec. 30, 2009
