He’s a mean one, that Mr. Grinch, always stealing stockings and Christmas trees, and no, he won’t forget about that roast beast, either. But what if this year he has another sudden change of heart? What if he decides that he just might celebrate Christmas, not only with every Who down in Whoville, but with everyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex? Maybe you won’t have to worry about hiding that roast beast after all. The Grinch is coming to life in this year’s holiday spectacle of ICE! Part of the annual Lone Star Christmas Celebration, this exhibit features colorful and delightful scenes from Dr. Seuss’ storybook classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Did I mention that every scene is made entirely out of ice? That’s right. You heard correctly. Some sculptures weigh more than two tons each–that’s a lot of green and grumpy art. Also, don’t forget to take a ride down the gigantic ice slide. Just make sure you slide at your own risk. ICE! is located at the Gaylord Texan Resort, 1501 Gaylord Trail, and is open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through January 3. Tickets are $10 to $20. Call 817-778-1000 or visit wefrozethegrinch.com.

Dec. 18-Jan. 3, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., 2009
