When I think of a “stewpot,” I think of a big pot full of lots of different vegetables stewing in juices, slow-cooking to delicious perfection. The Stewpot in Dallas, of course, is a bit different: It’s a resource center for homeless and at-risk individuals, and instead of being full of veggies, it’s filled with tons of different services and programs. One of these is the art program, where clients of The Stewpot can express themselves creatively, and said artists have got a show coming up at David Dike Fine Art, 2613 Fairmount St. Works will be on display Monday through Sunday, January 18, at the gallery and will later be sold at silent auction during The Stewpot Alliance’s 2nd annual Soup’s On Luncheon on January 26. Admission to the gallery is free. For gallery hours and more information, call 214-720-4044 or visit daviddike.com or thestewpot.org.

Jan. 11-18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2010
