All too often, it seems like the art world is dominated by the same old, same old. That’s why, to get to the truly great stuff, you have to break from the herd and keep an eye out for those who have their own voices and their own styles. No, I’m not talking about the “let’s throw shit on a wall and call it art” people (that’s so ’80s), I’m talking about artists like Aliza Lelah, Erin Stellmon and Sara Cardona. Decorazon Gallery’s current exhibition, Stitch to Each Other, features works in mixed media and recycled materials by the three ladies–each of whom have a distinct style and voice to their work. Stitch to Each Other will be on display at Decorazon Gallery, 417 N. Bishop Ave. in the Bishop Arts District, through November 16.
