Music and comedy go together like peas and carrots, but merrier. And with less fiber. Catch this combo for the ages at Alternative Comedy Theater’s “Laughter is Music to Our Ears” program at 11:15 p.m. this Friday and Saturday in the Pocket Sandwich Theater, 5400 East Mockingbird Lane. Newly-formed (but fully incubated) improv group Sondheimlich Maneuver breaks into song as part of their act, giving you a toe-tapping, gut-busting workout as they riff in key and on pitch. The comedic possibilities are endless: want to hear a piece about online dating set to a Katy Perry tune? I’m sure that’s a thing. No promises. The evening also includes performances from local improv maestros The Victims plus the lovably nutty ladies of The Band Wreckers, who can tackle all manner of music-related prompts with gusto.
