The life of a stripper must be tough. Having to deal with being pawed by gaggles of slobbering, sex-crazed guys night after night ain’t no picnic. While some strippers see their job as a career, most probably just see it as a way to make some quick cash, planning to move on to something more “legit.” The new play Black Betty: The Story of a Stripper’s Tragedy addresses this issue with what promises to be an audio-visual feast. The tale of a stripper who finally gets the chance to move on to something better, only to have her new way of life threatened by her secret past, this production uses music and innovative staging to pull the viewer into the stripper’s nether world. Anyone who is fascinated by the seedier side of life should not miss this event. And, of course, strippers are welcome. Black Betty: The Story of a Stripper’s Tragedy will be exposing itself Saturday and October 10 at the eXtreme eXcuses cafe, 3025 Main St. Visit DallasPremierProductions.com for details.
