It’s always nice when a local kid who makes it to the big time still makes time to entertain the people who gave his start — and not in a “court ordered community service” kind of way. Comedian Dustin Ybarra started polishing his stand-up routines right here in Dallas and was even good enough to finish as a finalist in 2009’s “Funniest Comic in Dallas” contest before venturing off to find his fortune in show business. Since then, he’s appeared as a guest on E!’s Chelsea Lately and even taped a pilot with Alexia Chung for her upcoming MTV show, What You’re Watching. He’ll perform at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub (5321 E. Mockingbird Lane) in Dallas at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $10-$15 per person and available on prekindle.com.
