Denton’s holiday festival is beloved by its residents, and for good reason. The annual Holiday Lighting event is practically a one-stop-shop for every holiday experience you could want. Santa will be on hand to take pictures with kids and immature adults, along with horse-drawn carriage rides around the town square, crafts, and (of course) the annual tree lighting. To add to the holiday cheer, Denton’s best ensembles and bands will be playing holiday favorites at venues and stages across Downtown. If you’re planning on making the trip, bring a few unwrapped new toys to contribute to the annual toy drive, which benefits the Denton County Toy Store. The lighting is free at 5:30 p.m. Friday and takes place in the downtown square, 110 W. Hickory St. More information at dentonholidaylighting.com.
