Demetri Martin is an interesting anomaly in comedy. He’s like a weird, mutant mix of a prop comedian and an observational comic except that unlike most of the people in those two categories, he’s actually funny. Every show features the host of Comedy Central’s “Important Things” and author of the appropriately named “This is a Book” and “Point Your Face at This” standing on stage usually with his oversized drawing pad, a piano and some “unnecessary bells” that uses to blur the line between observable reality and bizarre logic. It’s like being on some kind of drug trip that allows you to maintain your basic senses and avoid having a spot on your criminal record. Martin returns to Dallas for a show at the House of Blues (2200 N. Lamar St.) at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $50 at Livenation.com.
