Christmas music is blah. We get it. Grandma got run over by a reindeer. You want your two front teeth. All Mariah Carey wants is you, you, and you. It’s all a little underwhelming. But luckily for you, Local Honey’s lead vocalist, Kelly Brown, will bring together a bunch of Dallas musician to perform some holiday music for its ninth year. It will be a mix of musicians and dancers that will do everything in their being to encourage you to sing and dance along. There will be some big-band swing, bluegrass, alternate pop, and some rock. Some favorites will be there, like Freddie Jones, Kenny Withrow, Reggie Rueffer, and Mack Price. And take your grandma along. Maybe 2014 will be here lucky year of not getting run over by a reindeer. See it at 8 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Theater (1825 Abrams Rd.). Tickets are $25 at lakewoodtheater.com or by calling 214-821-7469.
Fri., Dec. 19, 8 p.m., 2014
