You’ve spent some New Year’s Eves in less-than-ideal situations. There’s the year you talked to the cops in your front yard while hiding a 12-piece band in the living room. Then there’s the year you were prostrate in the stall of a dive-bar bathroom after a few too many champagne shooters. But this year, you’re determined to class things up a bit — maybe put on a fancy dress or suit and go somewhere that has a legit coat check as opposed to a pile on a beer-streaked coffee table. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s New Year’s Eve concert is a legit, grown-up affair that promises to be elegant, classic, and most importantly, fun. You’ll be treated to an evening of lively Viennese-inspired compositions conducted by Oliver von Dohnányi and sung by soprano Laura Alonso Padin.
