Think way back to New Year’s Eve. Did your plans involve putting on your best clothes — the ones you usually reserve for funerals or Mad Men cosplay? Do you wish you’d done something truly memorable? Are you into drag? If you answered “no,” “yes” and “yes” to the previous three questions and don’t want to spend the remainder of 2015 planning your next New Year’s Eve out of spiteful regret, the Texas Theatre and CineWilde have a way to make up for lost time. Their screening of Paris is Burning, the Oscar-nominated documentary about the New York ballroom community, will be followed by a Community Ball in celebration of CineWilde’s one-year anniversary. The post-film fun includes dancing and performances by Ethereal and the Queer Show and Dezi 5. Mark your calendar for 9 p.m. Friday at the Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.). Tickets are $10 at thetexastheatre.com.
