Everyone’s got a story to tell, even if it’s one of those cautionary tales that makes listeners thankful for their own pathetic existences. That’s the gift of hearing someone’s personal experience. You can learn an important life lesson, without enduring the pain firsthand. Every month, some of DFW’s most gifted tale-tellers share theirs with an audience at a storytelling series called Oral Fixation: An Obsession with True Life Tales. This month, seven performers will relay encounters with a “Slippery Slope” that sent them down a difficult and challenging path. See the show in its second (and cheaper!) iteration for $15 at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.). Tickets are available at prekindle.com; more information at oralfixationshow.com.
