When you hear that a child of a Beatle is coming to town, do you really need another reason to go to a show? Especially when the Beatle-child in question is the offspring of arguably the most beloved of all of the Beatles?

From the standpoint of celebrity, it’s surprising that either Sean Lennon or his uber-model girlfriend and Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger collaborator Charlotte Kemp Muhl would make an appearance in a small club. And yet here they are, coming to Denton this week for a gig at the venerable Dan’s Silverleaf. As musicians, however, it makes a little more sense: Lennon’s musical endeavors as bassist for Cibo Matto and his couple of solo albums never sparked much interest, and Kemp Muhl has only recently graduated from playing guitar backstage at fashion shows to kill time.

But, as easy as it could be to dismiss, GOASTT deserve a little more consideration, especially for fans of great pop. Their album, titled Acoustic Sessions, is a quiet, intimate and sometimes dark trip full of pretty melodies and tight harmonies, and promises to be enjoyable to take in live, celebrity aside.
